What Can I Expect When I Arrive For Worship?
When you arrive at Burgaw United Methodist Church for worship, we hope that you will feel comfortable coming as you are.
You don’t have to be a Methodist or a long-time churchgoer to feel at ease here. A greeter will welcome you at the doors. An usher will hand you a bulletin that shows what will take place in the worship service, as well as what activities are coming up that week and month. We come to worship to give praise to God. We sing, we pray, we greet each other, we affirm our beliefs together, and we hear the Word of God read and proclaimed. We then depart from worship to go back into the world to serve the same God that we worship.
We would love for you to worship with us online at any time, or on Sunday mornings in the sanctuary at 11:00am.
Hope to see you there!
– Pastor Matthew Hayes
Location
Burgaw UMC is located at the corner of N. Walker Street and E. Bridgers Street. We are located right across from the Town of Burgaw Fire Department.
Parking
Parking is available alongside the church building on N. Walker Street, and in the paved lot across the street from the church we share with the fire department.
What should I wear to service?
We have a casual atmosphere, but we love seeing folks dress in their Sunday best, too. Just wear what makes you comfortable! Jeans and a shirt or a suit and tie are both perfectly suitable Sunday morning getups at BUMC.
Worship for children
We want your kids to love coming to church, and we have created fun, engaging environments for them to learn, be creative, and have the best time while at church. We want to see families experience Jesus together, help kids take the next steps in their faith, and support parents as spiritual leaders of their families. We love to see them in worship. Check it all out!
Sunday School Details
Sunday school happens every Sunday at 10:00am for children and adults. During the 11:00am service, we invite all the children to come up for children’s time, after which, all children aged six and under are welcome to attend our “Little Blessings” time in the church fellowship hall. During “Little Blessings”, the children will learn more about Jesus through stories, songs, and games. “Little Blessings” ends just before the service does, and after “Little Blessings” is over, the kids will be led back over to the sanctuary. Our kids’ programs are engaging, fun, and teach a practical, Bible-based lesson each week.
Why do we gather?
Each week, we gather as a church to focus our hearts on the God who gives us life, through teachings and worship, to draw us closer to Him. We grow together as we are challenged to serve our community, our city, our country, and our world. We are united in seeking God and serving together.
More questions?
You can email additional questions to us at any time. We will get back to you as quickly as possible. We hope to see you this Sunday!
